During their time at the firm, they have brought a wealth of experience from their previous roles in public and industry practice that they have used to help our clients.
Heidi Irwin
Heidi has been a practicing accountant for over twenty-five years and brings a wealth of public and industry practice experience to our team. With a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University, a CPA, CA designation in Canada, and her CPA from North Carolina, she brings a unique perspective on business and cross-border tax and accounting matters.
As a business advisor and accountant, Heidi very much enjoys working with professionals and business-owners to deliver exceptional client service. She prioritizes proactivity, preparation, and timeliness, ensuring that matters are given due consideration and are not rushed. Heidi makes it a point to ask the right questions, learn her clients’ goals, make sure they get everything that they need, and more.
Heidi specializes in working with owner-managed businesses on their compliance work, including devising the most tax-efficient solutions and structures for their business. Over the span of her career, she has worked with professionals (accountants, lawyers, doctors, and dentists) and businesses ranging from small companies to large public corporations across a wide array of industries including distribution, manufacturing, technology, investment and finance, real estate development, and construction. For her, a successful matter is built on keeping updated, advising on the pros and cons, and sharing her recommendations for the best way forward.
Geng Dai
Geng brings almost fifteen years of assurance, audit, personal and corporate tax, and general business knowledge to his accounting practice. A graduate from the Schulich School of Business, he assists clients with compliance work and provides invaluable business and strategic planning advice to help them achieve their financial goals.
A problem-solver who likes taking on complex and varied issues, Geng takes a big-picture approach to his work, thinking about issues and matters holistically. He works hard to empower his clients with information to help them and their businesses succeed. With his down-to-earth approach, Geng works hard to relate with his clients and gain a better understanding of issues from their perspective.
Geng’s clients include a diverse portfolio of companies that span many sectors including construction, manufacturing, consulting, tourism, real estate, legal, and film production. He understands the nuances of the work found in different sectors and he makes it his goal to learn as much as possible about his clients and their businesses to deliver solutions tailored to their unique needs. Clients appreciate that he always delivers. Originally from mainland China, Geng proudly services his clients in both English and Mandarin.
