Mark focuses his practice on trust, always working to build strong relationships with his clients and provide personalized advice that aligns with their values. Integrity and honesty define Mark and the services he provides to his clients; Mark makes it a priority to treat his clients like family.  

As a principal in the firm, Mark assists his wide array of owner-manager clients with their accounting, tax, and business-related needs to help them achieve more profitable and rewarding businesses. By preparing financial statements, corporate tax returns, HST returns, Trust returns, and all payroll related submissions, and assisting with estate planning and the review of wills, Mark provides a range of services for the unique needs of his diverse clientele.  

Mark graduated from York University in 1988 with a degree in theoretical mathematics. For over 30 years, Mark has practiced accounting at HSM LLP, a firm his father founded more than 50 years ago. He is proud of the long-term relationships he has built with his clients and wants them to know that whenever they have a need, he can be their first call. Mark will often visit the homes of his clients to meet with them and assist with their business and tax related matters – demonstrating his commitment to helping his clients however he can to achieve their goals.

Although it can be difficult, Mark enjoys working with individuals experiencing divorce, being there and providing close hand holding, advice, and guidance on the difficult issues they may be experiencing. His Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA) designation, coupled with years of experience, position Mark well to offer his clients practical and well-educated advice during their separation and divorce.

Mark has volunteered his time by preparing personal income tax returns for the elderly and less privileged at the CPA/CRA sponsored income tax clinics. In his spare time, he enjoys travelling, spending time with wife, his seven children, and watching his beloved Toronto Maple Leafs.
